Hi Folks.

We’re almost to Christmas! And happy Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Las Posadas, Yule or whichever your choice celebration may be. To be honest, I’m not versed in the others, but happy holiday season to everyone. We got “surprised” by another snow. My mistrusted of the weatherman’s predictions has grown strong through the farming season, so I might have said “it’s not going to snow” a few times. Oh well. It was enough for some good sledding, and that was fun.

I almost forgot to say THANK YOU to all who came out to our Severna Park Christmas market! Thank you, thank you! That was a really nice way to finish up another great season there. We’ll be back in April. Until then, we’ll be bringing home delivery that way every other week.

That brings us to our special Monday the 22nd home delivery. We want everyone to be ready for the holiday so we moved up the delivery day. Order by noon on Sunday. Leave a cooler out Monday morning and you’ll be all set by early afternoon. Easy peasy. You can order here… and if you have any trouble with the site please email or text. There have been a few glitches with ordering and we are trying to get them sorted out, which means Vicki on the phone with the tech support…boring and frustrating. (Why the purple link? Maggie is sitting with me and it was requested. Family farm in action.)

Honey’s Harvest Last Holiday Market is Sunday. 11-3pm. Good friends and a really fun market.

Deale Christmas Market is Saturday. 10-2pm. It’s at our regular stomping ground known as the local Deale Library. Should be a very nice time.

Old Stien Inn Christmas Market is Friday evening. 5pm-9pm. This will be a first for us. Farmhand Gianna is going to go hang out and tell people about the farm. She’ll have a limited selection of goods with her and basically spreading the word about our little farm. Old Stien is a great restaurant with a very original menu. I highly recommend it.

Farm Store Hours @ Morris Hill Farm: Every Saturday 10-2pm or by appointment.

That’s it. For now anyway. Hope you’re feeling prepared and not too stressed out. Thank you for reading and being a part of our small farm. Happy holidays!

Big Storm Big Trip

Two big things going on for us this week, one of which I’m sure will affect you as well. First off, there’s a big storm coming this weekend. It look like it’s going to leave quite a mess. In true “farmers try our best” fashion, the Sunday Anne Arundel Farmers Market will be moving to Saturday (9-noon) this week. There will be NO Sunday market this week. All Sunday pre-orders will be there Saturday. You can also still order for Saturday until noon tomorrow (Friday). If you need to make other arrangements to pick up, just reach out. Now let’s look into why there’s a giant storm coming…..

Big Week of Not Much at All

Hi folks. We had a quite uneventful week here. The farm crew kept things moving and got started on a few projects. The Calvert/PG delivery route grew a little bit and we’re happy that option is picking up some new customers. Family time involved an eye doctor visit and some cavities getting filled. Like I said, not a lot to report on the farm front. Things I reminded myself of this week. Our pork chops are awesome, T-bone steaks are something special and our bacon can’t be beat. Hope you had a good week too.

Meet the Team

Welp, we’re moving ahead into another year. To be honest, the farm doesn’t have any major resolutions. We’re going to keep our rotational grazing going and continue our daily move poultry like we do. We’ll continue to source clean non-gmo feed from St. Mary’s county, and continue to use only small family run butcher shops. The plan is to be at all the same markets and to drive the same delivery routes. We do plan to raise a little more chicken and egg layers than last year, and hope to stay a bit more stocked in grass-fed beef. But, otherwise, we’re going to keep on going. If it aint broke….you get the gist.
