Hi Folks. All good here. Here’s the news for this week. Starting with a big one…from now on we will have eggs available on Sundays at the Anne Arundel County Farmers Market! I’d tried and tried to be allowed to sell eggs there and finally, in a mix of persistence, patience and circumstances…we’re good to go. Hooray!

Extra Markets. The holidays bring up some extra and one-off market opportunities and, thankfully, we have a good crew to allow us to attend these offerings. Here’s where we’ll be.

  • Every Saturday/Sunday @ Anne Arundel County Farmers Market.
  • Every Sunday (7,14,21) @ Honey’s Harvest Farm 11-3pm.
  • Saturday the 13th @ Severna Park Farmer’s Market Christmas Special !!!
  • Friday 19 @ Old Stein Inn Holiday Market 5-9pm.
  • Saturday 20 @ the Deale Christmas Market.

Plus our regular farm store hours 10-2pm on Saturday’s. Please reach out if you’d like to stop by at a different time…we’ll make it happen. Call/text/email work well.

Plus our regular home delivery routes for the next Wednesday’s and a special Anne Arundel delivery Monday Dec. 22nd, because we like to be home on Christmas Eve, and want you to be all set by that point too. Order for delivery here.

The last thing. Oh my boneless pork chop! I traditionally lean toward bone in cuts. But thanks to the damaged packaging in the market cooler, I cooked up some of the new boneless chops we got. They were moist and tender and possible the best tasting chops I’ve ever had. Not super thick cut but plenty thick. Just a little dry rub and olive oil and onto the grill. So good. The other cut that got my attention is our new Sage Chicken Sausage. It’s a loose sausage and really really tasty. We tried it with tacos and then it made its way into a stir fry. As we get into next season we hope that it will become a regular item we carry, but for now we’ve got what we got and once we run out it will be May before there’s more. I recommend you check it out. Shop all our pasture raised meats here.

Alright. It’s time to layer up and get to work. We still have the sheep and laying hers out at the rental properties and they are still getting rotated to fresh ground weekly and today they are getting moved. The sheep are on their last graze of the field that the turkeys were on…it’s amazingly green and nice looking right now. I hope all is well with all of you. Thank you for everything.

Farm Updates January 2024

Happy New Year!I’m hoping 2024 is off to a good start for you. I’m feeling optimistic at this point, not too overwhelmed and in general at a “let’s get things done” moment. This is not a resolution on my part, I’m not a resolution sort of person, but rather simply a happy-ish place I have found myself at as we start another year around the sun. I’ve been fortunate in the last few weeks to: build a mud kitchen, install a ninja line and go hiking with my family…and farm stuff :)Hey Folks. So the Saturday markets are done until April. Ann and Christian have begun hibernating and fixing up their first house together, and the wonderful ground of the Sevenna Park Farmer’s Market has returned to a parking lot…until April when it all starts again…thankfully. For now.Every Sunday 9-noon we will be at the Anne Arundel County Farmer’s Market!!! And by “we” I mean ME. I’m happy to go get chilly at this market through the winter. It’s fun. I could insert something clever here about seeing your warm smiles but I think I’ll steer clear of such blatant marketing charm…wink. I’m truly looking forward to it.Also this Sunday is Honey’s Harvest Farm Market. 11-3pm in Lothian. Great eats, skilled crafts, drinks and music. It’s a real event. Vicki will be there with all the goods.Next Wednesday Jan. 10th is Home Delivery! Tuesday at noon is the deadline to order. You can order Here.33(42.3%) This is going to be an every two week thing now. Last round was great. We’re happy to provide this service option and will be making an effort to expand its reach over the next few months. A new and improved online store is in the works and we have some spiffy looking brochures getting made up too. Stay tuned! We’ll be asking for your help.As always, Thank you for your support! I feel like I can’t say that enough. Our farm does not work without you. Best wishes in this new year!Morris Hill Farm: David, Vicki, Gradin and Maggie
